US Social Forum Report Back

COME ONE COME ALL!

Find out what’s been going on in Detroit, ground zero of the US economic fallout. Expect an evening of music, movies, photography and discussion with friends from Seattle, Olympia and Portland who participated in the US Social Forum.

Detroit Incinerator Action

On June 27th, community members, activists and environmentalists joined together to march against Covanta and the City of Detroit’s continued use of a toxic trash incinerator in residential areas. Highlights of the day included great street theater, a marching band, sun flowers and tree planting at Go Lightly Elementary school just blocks from the plant.

Butts on the Bus

USSF Opening March

Wednesday morning marked the opening march of the US Social Forum, the gathering of 10,000 people from all corners of the country we traveled across the country to be a part of.

Allied Media Conference

The Allied Media Conference took place from June 17-June 21. Over 700 media activists gathered from around the country for the 12th annual event. The conference consisted of a series of workshops organized around tracks ranging from technical skill shares, to policy discussions.
