B Media Collective is hosting a film screening to showcase eight amazing movement films that were produced in their community video course at PCC this summer. Volunteers and staff members from PCASC, OPAL, CIO, Move to Amend and the Working Families Party participated, and each of them completed a 1-5 minute film about their organizations work, or an issue important to their community. Numerous Portland social justice organizations are featured in the films, and we would like to invite your members to join us for the film screening. Friday, September 28th, 8 pm (doors open at 7 pm) Moriarty Arts Auditorium, PCC Cascade Campus.
Short films included in the program highlight:
OPAL: Transportation inequality and inaccessibility
VOZ: A conversation between union organized labor and day laborers
Working Families Party: The rising student debt crisis
Move to Amend: Insight into the corporate takeover of our democracy
CIO: Civic engagement, community organizing, and empowerment amongst immigrant communities
PCASC: GM workers on hunger strike in Columbia in protest of working conditions
Sponsoring organizations are invited to attend and table. Please contact ace@bmediacollective.org for more info about set up.
