New Video: Aqui Estamos y No Nos Vamos

Our latest short film documenting the March for One Oregon immigrant rights bus tour that took place March 5-9th of 2013. The tour was a partnership between the Rural Organizing Project, CAUSA, United Farm Workers, the PCUN migrant farm worker union, and other local organizations. The tour aimed at mobilizing Latino populations and their allies throughout rural Oregon, Idaho and Washington to push for comprehensive immigrant rights reform, specifically the restoration of driver licenses for undocumented workers.

B Media Collective teamed up with a group of youth participating in We Are Oregon’s Rockwood Arts and Media Program (RAMP) to create dialogue about their community.  Through photos and video, the group documented different aspects of Rockwood, focusing on what is unique and important about their community, as well as their specific visions for transforming and challenging some of the negative aspects and stereotypes of where they live. Youth and their allies from around the Pacific Northwest rally outside the Immigration Custom Enforcement (ICE – a federal government organization) privately run, for profit, detention center. The Undocumented and Unafraid youth protested the targeting and criminalizatoin of immigrant communities with racist legislation like the American Legislative Exchange Council’s (ALEC) SB1070 bill in Arizona.
